7.18: Last Day of "Warm Up" Week

Tomorrow I will be weighing myself and officially starting my journey to losing weight in a HEALTHY way. I DO need to lose weight, but I need to do it right.

I cried myself to sleep last night, I felt so awful about myself.

I had a long day today, I had to plan carefully what I was going to eat because I was in situations where I could have easily eaten a lot of unhealthy things.

I'm still in kind of a shaky mood so I kind of just want to post my calorie breakdown and be done for the night. <3

Calories
250 -- Baked french fries;
2 Eastern Russett potatoes cut into pieces and baked: 220 calories
2 tbsp. of Heinz tomato ketchup: 30 calories

180
-- Betty Crocker Wild Blueberry Muffin

200 -- Chicken;
Marinaded in Wishbone Fat Free Italian Dressing and grilled

70 -- Salad;
2 cups of Romaine lettuce: 40 calories
1/4 cup of cucumber: 5 calories
2 tbsp. Wishbone Fat Free Italian dressing: 15 calories
10 sprays of Wishbone Balsamic Salad Spritzer: 10 calories
(The salad was a side to the chicken)

140 -- Stewart's Light Cookies 'n Cream Ice Cream;
1/2 cup, I still think I'm making progress.

100 -- Cheerios

140 -- Honey Maid Graham Crackers (w/ 5g whole grain)

150 - Subway 6" (half, so...3")

Total calories consumed: 1230

Exercise
100 -- Walking for 20 minutes

Total calories burned: 100

----------
Net calories: 1130

Evaluation: I guess today was successful, except for the 30 calories over the 1200 calorie goal. BUT, for 30 calories, I'm not going to beat myself up like I used to. I'm more hopeful for the upcoming week when I start noticing each Monday whether or not I'm making progress on the scale or not. Upping my calorie intake, as I have, will cause me to not lose weight as fast as I used to, which sucks, but I'm ok with it if it means being healthier and keeping the ones I love (or really just my boyfriend) happy about what I'm doing.

7.17: Mini Blueberry Muffins, Daily Calorie Breakdown

Before I get to my calorie breakdown for the day, I said I would have a little healthy idea to share with you all. That tip? Mini guilt free blueberry muffins!

Muffins tend to be an unhealthy choice, because most recipes fill them with so much sugar and empty calories. The blueberries are good for you, but the rest of the muffin...not so worth it. Well, there's an easy way to get that little sugar fix, the healthiness of the blueberries, and no guilt!

The brand I use is Betty Crocker Wild Blueberry Muffin mix (click for nutritional info). There are obviously a few different ways to make this into mini muffins. Depending on what kinds of mini muffin pans you get, you can make verrrry low calorie muffins if you wanted, or slightly higher calories. This is the way I do it:

1. Prepare batter according to directions on the box.
2. Split the batter up into 8 standard sized muffin cups (a standard muffin pan has space for 12 muffins).
3. Use what's left to fill in all the muffin cups on a 24 cup mini muffin pan. Bake 'em up and enjoy!

Using that method, each regular muffin is 180 calories, and each mini muffin is 30 calories. If you wanted to make 2 batches of the mini muffins (in a 24 muffin pan), then each muffin would be 45 calories. If you had some other crazy way to do it, the calorie content would change. Either way, it's a tasty little treat for under 50 calories, and a good crave controller!

Evaluation: I'm proud of myself today. Not too shabby :D It was basically a well rounded day, kind of, and I think it's progress from lately. I'm going to try to focus on making my diet more well rounded, but for now, I think this does it as I transition from totally not knowing how to eat to trying to eat healthy.

P.S. THANKS TO MY NOW 6 FOLLOWERS XD Your support means a lot to me, I really appreciate it <3

Failure?

It was SUCH a busy day today, unplanned stuff happening and all that. If I would have known I was gonna be out of the house all day, I would have brought an apple or something with me. However, I kind of chose the lesser of the evils and instead of getting something like fried chicken or mac and cheese (which was offered to me :S) I decided to go to Subway. Don't have much else to say, so here's today's breakdown:

Calories
180 - Betty Crocker Wild Blueberry Muffin

600 - Subway Footlong;
Black forest ham and turkey on wheat bread - high calorie, but one of the only things I ate today, and the only "healthy" option in my travels.

280 - Stewart's Light Cookies 'n Cream Ice Cream;
1 cup. Again, I failed at this, but like I said yesterday, I'm learning to control it.

140 - Baked French Fries;
1 Eastern Russett potatoe cut into pieces and baked: 110 calories
2 tbsp. of Heinz tomato ketchup: 30 calories

Total calories consumed: 1200

Exercise
100 - Walking for 20 minutes

Total calories burned: 100

----------
Net calories: 1100

Evaluation: Like I said, wish I brought an apple with me or something to add more variety to what I ate today instead of having a fucking FOOTLONG. I never have a footlong, I usually get a 6", which isn't that bad for you. I did weigh myself this morning, and my weight is going down, so hopefully my official starting weight after this warm up week when I weigh in on Monday will be like 140 lbs (right now I'm like 142, but what I'm probably losing at the moment is water weight, so it's coming off fast). I'm feeling really motivated, although mostly by ana =/ I've had Edie Sedgwick in my head all day to motivate me...technically not thinspo, I'm not looking at pictures of her...hmm =/

Ok, restart.

The past couple weeks since I started this blog have been really up and down. It involved days of fasting, extreme exercise, and binging. I'm really struggling to find a balance, but starting today, I feel motivated enough to keep up with this blog and remain dedicated. At first, I started off kind of weary of the idea of feeling responsible to my blog, that I had to make sure what I did looked good for the sake of the people reading it. But, I've reached a point now where I think I can be honest with all of you.

For this restart, I'm changing some things. Instead of weighing myself every Friday, I'm going to do it every Monday morning. This week is going to be like my starting week, getting into the groove of things, and next week on Monday I'll establish my CW and work towards my goals.

I would really appreciate some followers, I'd really like to know that I'm being supported. I need it loves :(

So, without further ado, here is my first day of my warm up week before I really get going.

Calories
250 -- Baked french fries;
2 Eastern Russett potatoes cut into pieces and baked: 220 calories
2 tbsp. of Heinz tomato ketchup: 30 calories

180
-- Betty Crocker Wild Blueberry Muffin

108 -- Betty Crocker Wild Blueberry Muffins (mini version);
4 mini muffins, 27 calories each

300 -- Chicken;
Marinaded in Wishbone Fat Free Italian Dressing and grilled

80
-- Salad;
2 1/2 cups of Romaine lettuce: 50 calories
1/4 cup of cucumber: 5 calories
2 tbsp. Wishbone Fat Free Italian dressing: 15 calories
10 sprays of Wishbone Balsamic Salad Spritzer: 10 calories

280 -- Stewart's Light Cookies 'n Cream Ice Cream;
1 cup. NOT my finest moment. However, low fat and a good way to ween myself off of unhealthy things.

Total calories consumed: 1198

Exercise
100 -- Walking for 20 minutes

Total calories burned: 100

----------
Net calories: 1098

Evaluation: I would consider this a successful day. I did not exercise for a full 30 minutes, and I did have ice cream (ugh), but as my first real day towards recovery, I don't think it was too bad. Another thing, because I overestimate my calories sometimes, I think the chicken I had was actually around like 220-250 calories. Anyway, as time goes on, things can only get better...right?
